Collaged artworks

Collage using vintage materials. These pieces evoke a sense of time and place that’s otherworldly - they may be places or people that existed once upon a time, and are now lost to history. When I create a piece I reimagine them - places, feelings and stories made up of scraps or images, words, colour and texture. They are small works of art, unique and handmade using found, vintage papers and materials, and backed on either a vintage book board, or handmade paper. It’s really important to me to keep making and connecting with materials, and feeling my way to the stories they want to tell. Sometimes it’s someone else’s story - I’m just the maker creating a memory piece for a commission, and sometimes it’s a celebration of something - like a collection of photos and papers that speak of a loved one’s life, of their story.

Sometimes it’s whatever catches my eye from my collections of papers and objects and sparks an idea.
